Ski Area

The Les Sybelles ski area consists of 6 linked resorts with 310km of runs, making it one of the most extensive ski areas in France. This immense area boasts two snow parks, special runs for new styles of skiing, ski touring routes, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, sled and snowmobile rides, and introductory micro-light and paraglider flights. Of course, there are many other pleasures to be enjoyed, especially the local cuisine - fondue, raclette, reblochonnade, tartiflette and many other traditional Savoie recipes, which can be savoured in the area’s restaurants. 

At Christmas 2003, thanks to the link via the Pointe de l'Ouillon, the Les Sybelles became the 4th largest ski area in France, with 310km of linked runs. In order to minimise its environmental impact, the project was subject to a long period of consultation between the State, the local authorities and environmental protection bodies. The ski runs, and the choice and siting of the lifts and other equipment were designed to protect the landscape of the Ouillon area.
Saint Colomban des Villards has installed snow guns to guarantee optimum snow cover. The 193 snow guns at Les Sybelles mean that snow is guaranteed!
